Mercury Levels in Fish

The next time you go out to eat or to the store, consider the fish you are choosing.

Some fish have higher levels of Mercury than others.

High Mercury Level Fish

  • Tuna
  • Shark
  • Grouper
  • Orange Roughy
  • Sea Bass

Medium Level Fish

  • Cod
  • Lobster
  • Mahi-Mahi
  • Halibut
  • Snapper

Low Mercury Fish

  • Anchovies
  • Crab
  • Flounder
  • Crawfish
  • Haddock
  • Salmon
  • Tilapia
  • Sole

If your favorite fish is in the highest level you may want to cut back. Pregnant and nursing Moms need to be especially careful.
